The Kannada film industry has been shaken by the shocking news of the sudden death of renowned producer Soundarya Jagadish, who was found dead at her residence in Bangalore's Mahalakshmi Layout yesterday, April 14, Sunday.

Jagdish's dead body was found at his house and he was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Rajajinagar. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Mahalakshmi police started the process quickly, registered a case of unnatural death and conducted a thorough investigation. Reports suggest that the suicide angle is being probed as part of the investigation.

Visitation and interment are scheduled

Elaborate arrangements were made for the darshan of the public and members of the film industry at his residence till 9.30 am today. Later, his body will be sent to the farm house near Hirisave, Channarayapatna, and the last rites will be held after 12 noon. It has been confirmed that Jagdish's son Sanekh will perform the last rites. Preparations have been made for the funeral.

Soundarya Jagadish's loss has deeply affected the film community, with an outpouring of condolences and support from industry peers and fans. Yesterday many stars including Darshan, Prem, Upendra, Priyanka Upendra, Amulya, Gurukiran visited and paid obeisance. Many dignitaries are expected to offer condolences to Jagadish's family today.

The renowned producer recently faced controversy surrounding his establishment, the Jet Lag Pub, which was accused of operating beyond the permitted hours. However, there was relief when investigations revealed that the event organized at the venue was a dinner party rather than a late night party. Prominent persons like Darshan were interrogated during the investigation, the subsequent chargesheet would shed light on the matter.

Throughout her career, Soundarya Jagadish made significant contributions to Kannada cinema, producing several notable films like 'Appu Pappu', 'Snehitaru', 'Ramaleela' and 'Mast Maja Maadi', earning her widespread appreciation and respect in the industry.

His untimely death has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and colleagues, ending an era of Kannada cinema.
