Ayodhya: On the auspicious occasion of Ramanavami, the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya witnessed a remarkable event, the forehead of the venerable Ramlalla Murthy was anointed with a divine ray of sunlight known as ‘Surya Tilak’. The holy celebration unfolded on Wednesday, a momentous occasion for millions of devotees.

Scientific wonder behind the ceremony

An elaborate ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony of Ram Lalla was organized in the afternoon, using a sophisticated system of mirrors and lenses in the Ram Mandir premises. Led by a team of dedicated scientists commissioned by the temple trust, this spectacle is meticulously crafted. Using scientific expertise, a precise beam of sunlight was directed onto the idol’s forehead, creating a mesmerizing aura. The culmination of this phenomenon occurred at exactly 12 noon and lasted for approximately three minutes, filling the atmosphere with divine radiance.

PM Modi witnessed Ram Lalla’s ‘Surya Tilak’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged this historic moment at an election rally in Assam’s Nalbari. As Lord Rama decorated his magnificent abode he reverently observed the culmination of centuries of anticipation. Paying homage to this auspicious occasion, he chanted ‘Jai Siyavar Ram’ which resonated with the devotees across the country.

The expression of ‘Surya Tilak’ elicited jubilant chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ that echoed across Ayodhya and reverberated in temples across the nation. Devotees rejoiced with song and dance as PM Modi celebrated the first Ram Navami outside the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir on January 22 after the consecration of the idol.

Marked by offerings of 56 types of bhog, prasada and panjiris, the Ram Navami festivities unfolded in grandeur at the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. Head priest Acharya Satyendra Das shared insights into the elaborate preparations, highlighting the adornment of Lord Rama in a vibrant yellow attire and the ceremonial bathing with Panchamrita. The devotional offerings, including 56 varieties, emphasized the ardent devotion and reverence of the worshippers.

Crowds of devotees overflowing with devotion and devotion throng the Ram Mandir, portraying a vibrant image of devotion. Before taking darshan at the temple, pilgrims immerse themselves in the purifying waters of the Sarayu River, symbolizing spiritual purification and renewal.

The religious rituals began at 3:30 am, drawing devotees from far and wide to participate in the holy ritual. The festivities were telecast across the city on several LED screens and streamed on the Trust’s social media platforms, ensuring wide participation and engagement on this momentous occasion.
