New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony of Lord Rama in Ayodhya on Wednesday and called it an “emotional moment”. After attending an election rally in Assam’s Nalbari, Prime Minister Modi expressed his feelings, saying that the program on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami moved me deeply. In a heartfelt message shared on X in Hindi, PM Modi conveyed his feelings, expressing solidarity with millions of Indians who were touched by the splendor of Ram Navami celebrations in Ayodhya. He emphasized the historical significance of the occasion and extended his wishes for the blessings of ‘Surya Tilak’ to infuse the nation with strength and inspiration.

“After my Nalbari rally, I observed Surya Tilak on Ram Lalla. Like millions of Indians, this is a very emotional moment for me. Ayodhya’s grand Ramnavami is historic. Ram Lalla’s historic ‘Surya Tilak’

Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir witnessed a remarkable event as the forehead of Ram Lalla’s idol was anointed with sun rays symbolizing the ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony. This elaborate ceremony, performed in the afternoon, involved a sophisticated arrangement of mirrors and lenses in the temple premises. A team of dedicated scientists commissioned by the temple trust orchestrated this miracle of precision and devotion, directing a beam of sunlight on the forehead of the idol. The ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony lasted for about three minutes.

Scientific wonder behind the sacred ceremony

‘Surya Tilak’, organized with ritual, precision and scientific expertise, symbolizes the convergence of tradition and modernity. Through an intricate arrangement of mirrors and lenses, divine radiance illuminated the idol’s forehead, capturing the essence of devotion and spirituality. The culmination of this phenomenon, which lasted approximately three minutes, marked a moment of deep significance in the hearts of the devotees.

The ceremonial expression of ‘Surya Tilak’ evoked jubilant chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, echoing not only in Ayodhya but in temples across the country. Devotees celebrated with gusto by celebrating the first Ramanavami after Prime Minister Modi consecrated the idol in January. Acharya Satyendra Das, head priest of Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, provided insights into the elaborate preparations for Rama Navami, detailing the adornment of Lord Rama in vibrant attire and the ceremonial bath with Panchamrita. The offering of 56 varieties of ‘Bhog Parasad’ accentuated the devotional fervor of the worshippers, while throngs of devotees thronged the temple, exemplifying a vibrant image of devotion.

Rituals began early in the morning, drawing devotees from far and wide to participate in the holy ritual. The festivities were telecast across the city on LED screens and streamed on social media platforms, facilitating widespread participation in this momentous occasion.
