Act 1: 54 runs came off the last four overs. Leading wicket-taker, best economy rate, most points per match
Bumrah has been phenomenal with the ball at all levels this IPL season. He bowled with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the tournament. Bumrah is the tournament's joint-highest wicket-taker with 10 dismissals at an impressive average of 11.9 and a strike rate of 12. He has the best economy rate of 5.95 in the competition among all bowlers who have bowled at least 50 deliveries. . Bumrah bowled an average of 11.6 dot deliveries per match – the most of any bowler in the tournament.
Just for perspective, the other MI bowlers have conceded a bowling average of 46.6 and a strike rate of 25.2 at a rate of 11.1 – that's a huge gap between Bumrah and his peers in the tournament.
MI have a poor economy rate of 10.2 this edition, showing how poorly their other bowlers have performed as a unit despite Bumrah's exploits with the ball. This highlights Bumrah's talent with the ball in the competition – the most restricted bowler from the tournament's most expensive bowling unit!

Match 1: Bumrah returned with exceptional figures of 3/14 in 4 overs, responsible for three big wickets of Wriddhiman Saha, Sai Sudarshan and David Miller against the Titans. The combined economy rate of the other MI bowlers in the match was 9.4, making him two and a half times more expensive than Bumrah.
Match 2: In an encounter that witnessed the highest match total in the IPL with SRH breaking the record for the highest team total in the league's history, Bumrah had an economy rate of just 9. Match 4: With the Capitals threatening to explode and pull off an improbable chase and with Shaw, Porel and Stubbs taking every other MI bowler to the cleaners, Bumrah delivered the 12th, 15th and 18th overs to give away a total of 18 runs. Range of opposition.
Match 5: Bumrah took the coveted scalp of Orange Cap holder-Virat Kohli in the third ball of his spell, breaking the scoring against Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar before returning in the 11th ball, conceding just four wickets. Exceptional at powerplay and death
The powerplay and death overs pose the best challenge in the business and are a real test for any bowler, especially in T20 cricket. Bumrah has been brilliantly restricted in the first six overs of this season and has an economy rate of 5.1 – best for any bowler who bowls at least 5 overs at this stage of the game. Opposing batsmen have been wary against Bumrah and have an attack percentage of just 28.6% against him in the powerplay – by far the best among all bowlers in the tournament. Bumrah beat the batter once every five balls in the first six overs.
Bumrah has also been excellent in the death overs, where he has been the leading wicket-taker in the competition, taking six in as many overs at an astonishing average of 7! At this stage of the game he has been exceptionally restricted with a very low economy rate (just 7) in the last four overs! The frequency with which Bumrah concedes a boundary – which is once every nine balls – is minimal at this stage of the game.
