Bengaluru, April 17: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that after 148 days of heatwave, Bengaluru may finally receive some rain (rain) on Thursday and Friday.

However, not all parts of Bangalore city receive rain. The Indian Meteorological Departments started reporting rain in only a few areas of the city. The IMD had predicted rain by April 10 and was later told that it would rain after April 14.

Although there is no rain, the temperature has dropped considerably in the first week of April. Bangalore recorded 37.6 degrees Celsius on April 6. This is the highest the city has seen in eight years. Since then there has been a gradual decrease in the maximum temperature. On April 13, 34.6 degree Celsius was recorded. However, in the last couple of days the temperature will rise slightly again with 35.9 degrees Celsius recorded on April 15.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that monsoon rains this year will be 6 per cent above the long-term average (LPA) of 870 mm. Private forecaster Skymet has forecast a normal monsoon. A normal monsoon is a period between June and September with rainfall between 96% and 104% of the monsoon long-term average.
